My Story

Hey there! My name is Janell E. Goler, and I’m an LPC Associate under the supervision of Dr. Gerald Pennie, PhD, LPC-S, NCC.

I’m passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. As a person-centered therapist, I use a holistic, solution-focused approach that honors the whole person.

I have experience supporting individuals as they navigate stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I believe you already possess many of the strengths you need to create meaningful change and reach your goals. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, build resilience, find greater balance, and develop tools to help you feel more grounded and empowered.

My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and accepted throughout the counseling process. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you discover your strengths, work through challenges, and move toward greater emotional well-being and lasting positive change.

My journey in mental health care began in 2020, when I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and began serving my community as a Behavioral Health Associate. Since then, I have continued to grow both personally and professionally in the field. I have provided therapy, treatment, and support to clients navigating a variety of life experiences and challenges since 2024. In May 2025, I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

My professional experience ranges from providing telehealth therapy at the Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center in Killeen, TX, where I supported couples, families, children, and adults with diverse needs and backgrounds, to serving as a Mental Health Clinician with UTMB Health. In that role, I provided therapy, crisis management, group counseling, and treatment to individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health disorders at a maximum-security prison in Gatesville, TX.

These experiences, along with others, have strengthened my commitment to serving individuals from all walks of life.

Beyond my professional experiences, I am a veteran and a mother. I bring my own lived experiences navigating life’s challenges into the way I connect with and support my clients. These experiences have taught me the importance of resilience, compassion, patience, and having a safe space where you can be honest about what you are going through. I understand that life can be complicated, and sometimes we all need someone to walk alongside us.

I am passionate about supporting clients from all walks of life and believe that every person has a unique story, strengths, and experiences that deserve to be honored. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self.

As a therapist, my hope is to meet you where you are and support you as you work toward where you would like to be. Together, we can explore your goals, build resilience, develop healthy coping tools, and work toward greater balance and emotional well-being.

I am honored to be part of your journey and look forward to supporting you through the challenges, growth, and transitions that life may bring.
