01

Therapy for Black Women for Houston Residents

Many Black women carry the expectation of strength at work, at home, and in their communities, alongside the stress of bias and the demands of motherhood. It often shows up as high-functioning anxiety, quiet depression, and exhaustion.

Houston is the largest city in Texas and one of the most diverse in the country, a place of long commutes, packed calendars, and people working everywhere from the Texas Medical Center to the energy corridor.

02

How Guiding Hope Can Help

Mallori Thompson is especially passionate about supporting high-achieving African American women who silently carry the weight of high-functioning anxiety, depression, and the pressure to always appear strong, and she also supports women through pregnancy and postpartum.

03

Why Online Works in Houston

Online care widens your options beyond whoever has an office near you in Houston, so you can choose a therapist for fit rather than proximity.

Every Guiding Hope clinician is licensed in Texas and meets clients by secure video anywhere in the state, so you choose a therapist for fit rather than for how close their office is.

04

Getting Started

Guiding Hope is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Coverage varies from plan to plan, so it is worth confirming your benefits before your first session. If you are out of network, the practice can provide a superbill you may be able to submit for reimbursement.

The first step is a free consultation. It is a short conversation where you can say what is going on, ask how online sessions work, and hear which clinician may be the best fit. There is no obligation, and you do not need to have the right words ready.

Yes. Every session at Guiding Hope is held by secure video, and all of our clinicians are licensed in Texas, so you can meet from anywhere in the state.

Do you take insurance?

Guiding Hope is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Coverage varies by plan, and superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement.

What happens in the free consultation?

You share a little about what is bringing you in, ask any practical questions, and talk through which clinician may fit. It is a conversation, not a commitment.

What if I am in crisis right now?

Please call 911 if you are in immediate danger, or call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Guiding Hope offers scheduled outpatient therapy and is not an emergency service.

You Can Begin With a Conversation
