01

Transitions Are Harder Than They Look

Starting college, leaving a career, becoming a parent, ending a relationship, moving across the state, caring for an aging parent, or retiring can all unsettle your sense of who you are. Some transitions are celebrated from the outside while feeling lonely or confusing on the inside.

Difficult life transitions are one of the top reasons people reach out to Guiding Hope, along with anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm.

02

What You Might Be Feeling

People in transition often describe restlessness, grief for what they left behind, second-guessing, irritability, trouble sleeping, or a flat sense of not feeling like themselves. None of that means the change was a mistake. It usually means something important is shifting.

03

How Therapy Helps

Therapy gives you room to name what you are losing as well as what you are gaining, clarify what matters to you now, and build practical routines that support you through the in-between.

Janell Goler describes her work as helping clients discover their strengths and move toward lasting change through challenges and transitions. Dr. Ashley Carroll-Brown's work focuses on helping people navigate life transitions with resilience and strength, and Ashley Gutierrez supports clients processing transitions and building resilience without fear of judgment.

04

Starting With a Conversation

The first step is a free consultation. It is a short conversation where you can say what is going on, ask how online sessions work, and hear which clinician may be the best fit. There is no obligation, and you do not need to have the right words ready.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy for life transitions available online anywhere in Texas?

Yes. Every session at Guiding Hope is held by secure video, and all of our clinicians are licensed in Texas, so you can meet from anywhere in the state.

Do you take insurance?

Guiding Hope is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Coverage varies by plan, and superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement.

What happens in the free consultation?

You share a little about what is bringing you in, ask any practical questions, and talk through which clinician may fit. It is a conversation, not a commitment.

What if I am in crisis right now?

Please call 911 if you are in immediate danger, or call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Guiding Hope offers scheduled outpatient therapy and is not an emergency service.

You Can Begin With a Conversation
