01

What Affirming Care Means

Neurodivergent affirming therapy starts from the view that autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent ways of thinking are differences, not defects. The goal is not to make you appear neurotypical. It is to reduce distress, strengthen self-understanding, and build support that actually fits.

Many neurodivergent people arrive in therapy carrying years of masking, burnout, and the message that they are too much or not enough.

02

Who You Would Work With

Ashley Gutierrez specializes in working with the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities. She believes you are the expert of your own life, tailors her style to your needs, and uses DBT and narrative therapy to help with emotion regulation and with reclaiming your own story.

Ashley works with teens 13 and older, young adults, adults, and couples, and offers daytime, evening, and weekend telehealth.

03

What Therapy Can Help With

Anxiety, burnout and recovery from masking, sensory overwhelm, emotional regulation, relationships and communication, identity, and navigating school, work, and family systems that were not built with you in mind.

Guiding Hope does not currently offer autism or ADHD evaluations. Therapy is available with or without a formal diagnosis.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy for neurodivergent clients available online anywhere in Texas?

Yes. Every session at Guiding Hope is held by secure video, and all of our clinicians are licensed in Texas, so you can meet from anywhere in the state.

Do you take insurance?

Guiding Hope is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Coverage varies by plan, and superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement.

What happens in the free consultation?

You share a little about what is bringing you in, ask any practical questions, and talk through which clinician may fit. It is a conversation, not a commitment.

What if I am in crisis right now?

Please call 911 if you are in immediate danger, or call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Guiding Hope offers scheduled outpatient therapy and is not an emergency service.

You Can Begin With a Conversation

A free consultation can help you ask questions, share what you are looking for, and consider whether one of our clinicians feels like a fit.
